Art of Music

Music is the lifeblood of living out loud ~ Laura Botsford

Originally the music flowed like a river, and somewhere out of the midst of longing and its essence; a song branched out from all its tributaries into the sea of manifested music.
As composers and songwriters, we know the many influences when we hear them, but in the mixology of it all is what makes it exciting; the blend, the whoosh, the whir of harmonies so sympatrically, that it leaves one breathless.
In this flux of creativity beats the drum of discovery, and make no mistake; all music has a collective soul of the ones who influenced or created it together; their rendezvous resonates, and depending on the song, leaves an everlasting impression of it as an incandescent listening presence.

"Laura Botsford music spans many musical genres from folk country, to pop, rock, and jazz, cinematic ebullition for over three decades. Her blend of genres uniquely mesh in an air of ethereal ambiance that defies gravity, moving, and true to their original roots yet expand into innovative musical dimensions." Review

"This album fuses a number of genres and collects a wide variety of instruments as well. The danger with this style of production is amalgamating mismatched themes and instruments, leading to a cacophony of sound that never settles down to be a listenable, engaging tune. Well thankfully, Laura has not fallen into that unfortunate, well-worn rut, that so many producers end up in. “Aquarium Funk” is engaging and musical on so many levels and well worth your listening time.
If you are a fan of Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and a melting pot of groove-based sounds, then you’ve found your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with this 13 track album. Or as Laura, herself has described it, ”Aquarium Funk is an innovative compendium of cool with wings, hip with the hap of old school meets break out contemporary jazz fusions of Capriccio tuneful funky charm.” ~ Simon Reich

"I call it my musicality reality, as I love all genres from funk to R&B, jazz, country folk, and cinematic scores. My compositions reflect an ever-evolving blend of all of them. The focus of my compositions is pairing Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, and a melting pot of groove-based sounds into crossovers of ambient, and classical orchestration." ~ Laura Botsford
Her vast collection of samples is a musical soup with ambient voices that carry songs in a flight of doves transitions from one style to the next.

She Journeys

She Journeys A collection of short stories of the divine feminine spirit as she mysteriously appears in the lives of people in their search of a great love. She might be playing at Valentine’s Bar, rapt in a reverie of romantic calling or in a fated evening of love, so tenderly unfolding in a communion kiss.           “I lay still until the next point in time aligns my heart with hers. What I understand now, is that love is total commitment; a boy carelessly follows the call, But a man won’t waste a woman’s time." "Like a poetic dream that lures us all unto a path of curiosity and love, She Journeys tells us the story of the many paths of kindred souls; one that embraces the mystic consciousness within us all." - Casey Leasure Author of Color of a Woman’s Heart

Aquarium Funk

Aquarium Funk is born out of a fusion of funk and jazz with Latin feel and is an eclectic soup of Soul genres that defies gravity and shouts to the world something fresh and truly swellegant.    " Laura Botsford is an artist. And I don’t just mean in the musical sense. Visual arts are also a creative outlet for her. Colleges seem to be a specialty of hers and when it comes to music, this also seems to be her strength, musical collages, or as Laura calls them ... “coalescing the vapors”.  ~  Simon Reich  (read more of Simon's review here )               Laura Botsford Music Bandcamp Amazon Prime
